Hi everyone. I hope this email finds you well. Today, it’s a little slow at the office and this has been on my mind for some time. A little reflection time. I want to continue to share my deeply personal and emotional journey with you, one that I believe holds the power to inspire and uplift. My journey through Stage 2 Breast Cancer was a path filled with challenges, but it was also a journey that reaffirmed my faith in the strength of the human spirit and the importance of early detection through yearly mammograms.
During the global COVID-19 pandemic, as a single mom of three wonderful children, a physician, and a business owner, I found myself facing an unexpected battle. November 2020 marked the completion of my last round of chemotherapy, a moment that was both a culmination of my strength and a reminder of the fragility of life.
Throughout this ordeal, I learned that cancer does not discriminate. It can touch anyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstance. It knocked on my door at a time when the world was grappling with uncertainty and fear, but I was determined to fight back.
The unwavering support of my family, friends, colleagues, and patients coupled with the tireless dedication of my medical team, became my pillars of strength. Everyone stood by me during the darkest days, offering love, meals, encouragement, and hope. The power of this community, I realized, is immeasurable.
As I sit here today, cancer-free and filled with gratitude, I am compelled to remind every woman of the critical importance of regular mammograms. Early detection can make all the difference in the world. It saved my life, and I want every woman to have the same chance at survival and recovery that I did. I understand that life can be busy, and it’s easy to put our health on the back burner, especially when we have so many responsibilities to juggle. However, I urge you, and every woman you know, to prioritize your health. Schedule that yearly mammogram and encourage your loved ones to do the same. It’s a simple step that can have a profound impact.
Breast cancer may have been an unexpected visitor in my life, but it also brought with it the incredible realization of the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless capacity for love and support that exists within this community. Together, we can raise awareness, inspire hope, and save lives
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts today. I share it with you in the hope that it will serve as a reminder of the importance of early detection and as a testament to the strength that resides within us all.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Loren Frankel
